Today we are looking at some websites that focus on people and/or organizations who make a difference. Enjoy.

Makers focuses on women who make a difference. Some of their interviewees include Ellen Degeneres (philanthropist, comedienne), Ophelia Dahl (world health care advocate), Violet Palmer (first female NBA referee) and Marian Wright Edelman (founder of the Children’s Defense Fund), just to name a few.

TED sponsors talks from innovators, artists, motivators and educators from every sphere of human endeavor. The videos are inspiring, uplifting and often incredibly beautiful.

Be the Cause promotes charitable works of every stripe. If you are looking for a cause to support, this site has options.

It is easy to sit and complain about “the way things are.” It is far more difficult to step up, step out and make a difference. These groups, and, I’m sure, hundreds more like them, are to be applauded for, or better yet, joined in their efforts.

  1. Thanks for highlighting change makers. I believe that people generally and genuinely want to make a difference but become so overwhelmed by where to start. If we all did little things to change the world it would make a huge impact!

    1. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I visited Light of Mine; what a great idea! I’ll be visiting you for my next t-shirt purchase. In the meantime. would you like to do a guest post? I think our readers would be interested in your idea and how you brought it to fruition. (Sorry, puns tend to be an occupational hazard, but the sentiment is sincere. 😉
If you are interested, let me know via comment and we’ll exchange emails.
Thanks for visiting The Brass Rag. I look forward to hearing from you.
