Creativity seems to have its own timetable, and that timetable often differs from writer to writer. Some of us arise with the lark, full of energy, ready to roll out page after page of perfect prose. Others are only fully awake after lunch. Then there are those of us (I’m betting a significant number of folks fit this category) for whom writing must take a back seat to the dreary necessity of paying the rent and the food bill, finding its place only after the work week is over for the moment.
